Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos has spoken out about his future following recent links to Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Premier League.
Ocampos has seemingly been marked out as a potential target by a number of teams, including Liverpool and Leeds United.
It has been claimed that Wolves could seek to move Adama Traore on this summer in order to fund a move for Ocampos, who has scored 24 goals in 80 appearances for the current Europa League holders, with 17 of those coming last term.
The star has certainly impressed at the club since joining from Marseille in the summer of 2019.
But it doesn’t seem like a transfer is on the cards for the player this summer, as he told Canal Sur Radio (quoted by Birmingham Mail): “I always say the same thing. I’m focusing on the present and I don’t look further ahead of the things that I cannot control.
“I love this city and what has happened in the past two years. I hope it continues. I’m very happy here and I’m not thinking of playing anywhere else than here.
“I’m very grateful to the club because they gave me confidence and allowed me to grow in certain facets of my game, which other clubs had not.”
Ocampos will be a name familiar to Wolves fans, as he scored against the club in last season’s Europa League quarter-final clash at Molineux.
Disappointing news
It very much seems like Ocampos will be staying put this summer.
That’s a shame from a Wolves perspective as Ocampos is a very talented wide player and probably is the kind of individual Nuno Espirito Santo needs.
Wolves need someone who can score goals and assist from the wide positions, and with 11 contributions to his name so far this season, and his 17-goal haul in 2019/20, the Argentina international would likely have been a decent signing.
