Liverpool scouts watched ‘outstanding’ £50k-a-week Wolves man for his country on Monday

Liverpool reportedly had scouts in attendance for Portugal’s game with Bosnia to watch Wolves winger Pedro Neto and others.

Neto is now back in the international picture after his wonderful start to the new season.

Neto has been amazing for Wolves, making five assists and scoring one goal in his first eight Premier League games.

He has been outstanding so far, and it has inevitable led to some talk about other clubs being interested.

Arsenal are known to be long-term admirers.

But there is also interest from Liverpool, who could swoop for Neto is Mo Salah is sold.

And apparently, Liverpool scouts were casting their eye over him the other night…

It was a resounding victory for Portugal, who scored all five goals of their 5-0 win in the first-half.

Neto didn’t start.

But he did play the final 30 minutes after replacing Rafael Leao.

Liverpool scouts were also there to watch the defender Goncalo Inacio.

Neto didn’t really have much time to do anything of note. He had 20 touches, and completed all 16 of his passes in the game (Sofascore).

Worrying claims over Neto

It is little wonder Neto is now being closely observed.

He has started the new season amazingly well and looks like the player of old. Wolves legend John Richards rightly said recently that he has been ‘outstanding’.

It’s been suggested the player could leave Wolves in January.

But it will take a huge fee to prise him away from Molineux and Wolves fans would like to hope the club will make it very difficult for him to depart.

It cannot be allowed to happen, if Wolves want an easier task of staying in the Premier League.
