A number of players stand to leave Wolves at the end of the season – and one of those would could be out of the door is Nelson Semedo.
The full-back’s current deal expires in the summer, and it would bring an end to a five-year stint at the club if he did go.
Nelson Semedo was recently made the captain at Wolves, after Mario Lemina was stripped of the armband following his antics after the defeat to West Ham United.
Semedo was chosen as the new skipper by Gary O’Neil, and Vitor Pereira has stuck with him.
Some Wolves fans were left feeling nervous when he became the new captain, because it has been something of a kiss of death in recent times.
In each of the last three summers, Wolves have seen a captain leave the club.
And it would seem there is a very real possibility that Semedo could continue that trend.
Nelson Semedo likely to leave Wolves this summer

Semedo was named the Players’ Player of the Season at Wolves after the 2023/24 campaign concluded.
Semedo himself felt he had his best season for Wolves last term.
This time around Semedo hasn’t quite been as good, although that can be said of many of the players in the squad.
But he’s still been decent overall, and many fans would love to see him extend.
But Liam Keen spoke on the E&S podcast yesterday, and suggested fans ought to prepare themselves for a Semedo exit this summer.
He said: “Wolves would love to keep him. He’s 31, he’s an experienced player, his performances have been pretty consistent.
“The things that go against that are the wages he’s on. I think people would be shocked if they heard what’s on, what Sarabia’s on, what Cunha’s on. They are no big money, bigger than what people realise.
“There was an openness – which was part of the report in December – for the player to have a conversation, an openness for him to stay, that is all still accurate.
“But the chances of him staying are still very slim. At 31, is he going to want to take a wage cut? You’d suspect not, he can move and go and play European football and get a big signing-on fee, as well as the big wages he’s currently on. From a financial point of view that’s a big sticking point.
“The player was open to it, but he’s certainly not desperate and knocking down the door to Jeff Shi or Matt Hobbs begging for a contract.”
Wolves may need big PL finish to keep Semedo
The suggestion from Keen is that Wolves fans need to ‘prepare themselves’ for Semedo leaving this summer.
He does say the picture could change and that he could end up extending.
But at the moment it’s unlikely he will be a Wolves player next season, even though the club would like him to stick around.

It may well be that how Wolves finish the current season dictates what happens with Semedo.
If Wolves enjoy a really good next few months and push up the table, Semedo might be inclined to extend at Molineux – if he can earn similar or the same wages as he has been doing.
If Wolves get relegated, there is obviously no chance he will be staying.
