Lee Dixon hailed a player who has been linked with Wolves as ‘an absolute star’ during a Euro 2024 quarter-final match.
The tournament is now coming to an end, with just four nations left in Germany.
One of France, Spain, England or the Netherlands will be lifting the trophy next weekend, but sadly no one from Wolves will become a European champion.
Pedro Neto, Jose Sa and Nelson Semedo were dumped out with Portugal on Friday night by France, who now take on Spain.
Last night, after England defeated Switzerland on penalties, the Netherlands faced Turkey.
The Dutch ran out 2-1 winners after going a goal down, but there was a strong push from Turkey at the end as they sought to take the game to extra-time.
One man who caught the eye last night was Ferdi Kadioglu, a player who might be on Wolves’ transfer radar.
Lee Dixon says Wolves target Ferdi Kadioglu is ‘an absolute star’

This summer there has been a bit of speculation about the future of Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The Algeria international was one of Wolves’ best players in 2023/24, as he enjoyed a fantastic turnaround under Gary O’Neil.
Some big clubs are said to be in his tail, including Liverpool.
Max Kilman has now been sold, and it is thought that Neto could also be set to leave.
Ait-Nouri is perhaps the least likely to depart out of him and Neto, but a huge offer could well come in which Wolves would then have to consider.
If Ait-Nouri does leave, then the club may seek to move to Fenerbahce star Ferdi Kadioglu. Wolves apparently sent scouts to watch him against Austria in the Round of 16 at Euro 2024. Fenerbahce are reportedly looking for at least £29 million to sell the player this summer.
Kadioglu was in action again last night against the Netherlands, and Dixon liked what he was seeing from the 24-year-old.
After he led a Turkey breakaway from a Dutch corner in the 47th minute, Dixon said of Kadioglu on ITV: “Looks an absolute star doesn’t he tonight? I think that wing-back role really suits him as well.”
As per Sofascore, Kadioglu won 7/9 of the duels he contested. He also made four tackles. His nine defensive actions in total were better by just two players in the whole game, Virgil van Dijk and Salih Ozcan.

The run that Kadioglu made in the 47th minute was impressive and the kind of thing Wolves fans see Ait-Nouri do quite often. It was just a shame about the final pass into Arda Guler which was overhit.
But Kadioglu looks a really exciting player and it is easy to see why plenty of clubs have been taking a look at him at Euro 2024.
Currently, Wolves don’t have need for the player. But that may well change if Ait-Nouri is poached.
The club should not be entertaining offers for him this summer and, indeed, there are no plans to sell him. But their resolve might be tested if a big club comes in for him.
Kadioglu was described back in April by respected analysis website Breaking The Lines as ‘one of the best fullbacks outside the top five leagues. So he’s got to be one for Wolves to keep an eye on should Ait-Nour depart.
