Latest Wolves stance on Rayan Ait-Nouri’s future now emerges amid Liverpool interest

Liverpool are reported to be admirers of one Wolves star however, the Reds could be dealt a blow in their pursuit.

After making a rapid start to the summer transfer window, Wolves’ attention has turned to pre-season training in Marbella.

Gary O’Neil has four new arrivals to integrate into his squad, with the team seen working hard in Spain in preparation for next season.

Unlike last summer, Wolves have only had to part ways with one key player so far this window, with another mass exile not on the cards.

Liverpool unlikely to sign Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri amid transfer interest

With Max Kilman already gone, O’Neil will be eager to keep hold of the majority of his side from last season.

Rayan Ait-Nouri has been linked to Liverpool, adding fuel to speculation over his future at Wolves beyond the summer.

Speaking on the links, HITC journalist Graeme Bailey told Molineux News of his doubts regarding a possible transfer.

“With Kilman going, the belief at Molineux is that they don’t need to sell anyone else.

“They thought the Kilman money was too hard to turn down, obviously, every player has a price, Ait-Nouri is one of those as well.

“I haven’t heard any fresh links about him and Liverpool, again, I think with Kilman going, Ait-Nouri is less likely, you can’t let everyone go.”

Wolves parted ways with their captain as West Ham’s £40m offer was too high to refuse, with the club now sitting in a strong position when it comes to sticking to high asking prices on their best talents, including Ait-Nouri.

“Wolves are in that position if they can get a big enough offer, but are Liverpool going to offer big money for a left-back? I’m not convinced they will.

“They obviously like him, they’ve been watching him but he’s not going to be cheap. I’m not convinced he will leave this summer.”

Gary O’Neil must keep Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer

Currently soaking up the sun in Marbella with his teammates, Ait-Nouri’s mind seems to be firmly on the task at hand at Wolves.

The Algerian went from being an outsider in Julen Lopetegui’s plans to a crucial part of O’Neil’s squad last season.

The manager lauded Ait-Nouri as “incredible”, hailing his impact at Wolves over the campaign, where he showed his versatility when the boss needed it most.

It would be a huge shame to lose the 23-year-old after the levels he showed under O’Neil’s guidance last term, with a fresh set of goals to hit in 2024/25.

Fortunately, it seems Wolves are unlikely to sell the left-back unless a significantly high offer is to be presented, something that Liverpool may pass on.
