Ladislav Krejci is a player Wolves would ideally like to keep for the Championship – but there’s every chance he could be on his way out.
Wolves’ recruitment was terrible last summer. But Ladislav Krejci was easily the best new addition.
The Czech international showed much more quality and consistency than the others, and was also able to fill in in midfield at times.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that Krejci was one of nine players Wolves want to form the core of their squad next season.
But in recent days there have been claims of interest from Leeds United in the player – and now Liam Keen has reported there is actually a release clause for Krejci this summer.
Ladislav Krejci has a release clause amid Leeds interest

Wolves are committed to signing Krejci permanently this summer when his loan ends.
The fee to be paid will be around £20 million, which follows the £6 million paid for the loan.
But there’s every chance Krejci will be sold on in the same window, having impressed for Wanderers despite the club’s abysmal season.
And journalist Liam Keen has provided some interesting information about the player on the latest E&S podcast.
He said: “There is a release clause in Krejci’s contract with Wolves when he becomes a permanent player this summer.
“I don’t have the exact figure for that release clause at the moment. I understand that it’s a fairly considerable fee, which I believe to be over 40 million. That could be in euros rather than pounds – I’m not 100% sure.
“I know it’s a considerable fee. Leeds, as it stands, are not willing to pay that release clause because they feel it’s overpriced for him. They would be willing to pay roughly around what Wolves paid for him.”
Krejci surely doesn’t stay

It would be miraculous if Krejci was still a Wolves player for 2026/27 after the club’s relegation.
Wanderers may have been relegated, but Krejci definitely showed himself to be a Premier League-level player.
It would be amazing for Wolves if the club managed to keep him.
But surely the player will be wanting to go, amid interest from top-flight clubs.
It remains to be seen if Wolves will hold firm and try to sell for the full value of his release clause, or if they will come down a bit.
