Wolves defender Yerson Mosquera has reportedly now emerged as a target for Spanish outfit Villarreal.
Mosquera recently returned to Molineux following a loan spell with FC Cincinnati over in the MLS, and that was a move that was a real success.
Mosquera made 35 appearances for the club and regularly came in for praise for his performances, with Wolves pathways manager Steve Davis describing him as having been ‘outstanding’.
Wolves are now deciding what to do with Mosquera.
Reportedly, around half the teams in the Championship have shown an interest in taking him on loan for the rest of the season.
But now, Villarreal are said to be keen on signing him…
Villarreal interested in signing Yerson Mosquera on loan from Wolves

According to AS yesterday, Mosquera now has interest from Villarreal, who have also just signed Goncalo Guedes on loan from Wolves after the winger ended his spell with Benfica.
Centre-back is a position that head coach Marcelino has asked to strengthen the most this month.
It is stated that in the negotiations for Guedes, the two clubs discussed a move for Mosquera, and now a move is said to be ‘close’.
It remains to be seen if something will come to fruition.
Gary O’Neil only has four other centre-back options right now and because of the system Wolves play, it means that three of them are in action per game.
There is not a huge amount of depth, and one injury may leave Wolves a touch short.
A good move for Mosquera
A move to Villarreal would be good for Mosquera, whom Wolves signed for £4.5 million.
He’s just come back from the MLS and so he needs a step up now. It might be a little too early for him to play for Wolves, but testing himself in La Liga feels like a sensible next step.
A move to a Championship club would probably be ideal, with Wolves seeing the player as a future first-teamer. That way, he would get to grips with the English game in preparation.
But La Liga is obviously one of the top divisions in Europe and Colombia international Mosquera is of course a Spanish speaker, meaning he’d probably be able to settle fairly quickly.
We will see what happens, but hopefully this will come to fruition and Mosquera can continue to get regular minutes.
