Kevin Danso has decided the club he wants to join amid Wolves transfer pursuit

Wolves fans are desperate to see the club land some late recruits – and Kevin Danso is the big name on the agenda at the moment.

It was claimed on Monday that Wolves had made a £16 million bid for Danso.

Then, it was suggested Wolves had in actual fact made two bids or Danso with both being rejected.

Danso was said to be looking to leave Lens, but quotes from manager Will Still then emerged about Danso wanting to stay at Lens.

It’s all getting quite frantic with time fast running out for Wolves to get their business done.

But one new claim has been made this afternoon and it really does cast doubt on Wolves signing the player before the deadline next Monday.

According to journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Danso wants to make a move to Rennes.

Toubache-Ter was replying to information from another journalist Sacha Tavolieri on X about Danso’s situation.

Tavolieri’s original post was also quite interesting, as he claims that Rennes appear to be in the driving seat over Wolves due to a couple of signings they’ve already made.

Earlier in the window, Rennes landed Seko Fofana and Brice Samba, who are both former teammates of Danso.

Tavolieri also says Danso has ‘opened the door’ to Rennes, and that negotiations are currently continuing ‘calmly’.

Danso pursuit could soon be over for Wolves

The narrative from France is that Rennes appear to be making a strong push for Danso after Wolves failed with two bids.

Like their English counterparts, Rennes are in a bit of trouble right now, as they sit 18th in Ligue 1 and are under threat of relegation.

They need additions and it seems Danso is someone they feel can help them.

The fact they have recently signed two of his former teammates could genuinely be what swings it in their favour, and Wolves appear to be facing an uphill battle. Should the club fail to sign Danso, then it could be that Wolves make a move to Clement Akpa instead. The Auxerre defender has impressed this term.
