Julen Lopetegui is reportedly looking to keep Diego Costa for another year at Wolves.
The striker has played a huge role in helping to keep Wanderers in the Premier League.
The 34-year-old has now started the last six Premier League games for Wolves, and has seriously impressed leading the line.
Costa – who has just been named Wolves’ Player of the Month for April – has appeared much fitter than when he first joined. And his competitive spirit has seemingly been very infectious, with the whole team showing greater hunger and desire in recent weeks.
Costa’s link-up play has been superb, and him scoring against Brentford made many Wolves fans very happy. There were few Wolves players more deserving of a goal at the time.
Just lately, there has been a debate about Costa and whether he should be handed a new contract at Molineux.
AS are now reporting that Lopetegui wants to keep hold of Costa for another season.
The manager is said to be a big fan of Costa and is one of his ‘main supporters’. It is suggested Lopetegui greatly values Costa’s fight, and the experience and leadership he brings to the dressing room.

He may not have been a goal machine (no one expected him to be), but he’s helped to raise standards at Molineux and it’s clear he is hugely respected in that dressing room.
Lopetegui raved about Costa after the win over Crystal Palace. It is very clear at this point how much he appreciates him.
Costa can clearly add value for Wolves and so hopefully, an agreement can be reached for him to play another season.
