Wolves would ‘definitely’ like to bring in another wide forward in January as well as a central striker, according to Express & Star journalist Liam Keen.
Keen was speaking on the latest Express & Star podcast episode, with a fan asking what the club could be getting up to in January.
It was recently reported that manager Gary O’Neil will be prioritising a move for a new striker in the next transfer window.
This is apparently so that he can hand Matheus Cunha more of a free role moving forward.
But it looks as though Wolves could well be in the market for another attacker…
Wolves set to target wide forward as well as a striker in January

On the latest Express & Star podcast episode, journalist Liam Keen spoke about what Wolves may do in January.
O’Neil has already said publicly that he is looking to bring in reinforcements.
The expectation is that Wolves will sign a new striker, which would definitely cast a lot of doubt on the future of Fabio Silva at the club.
But it looks as though Wolves may not stop there.
Keen said: “I wouldn’t say it’s more of a priority than a striker, in terms of my own opinion and in terms of what the club want to do. The club are certainly prioritising a striker. What I have reported in the last few days is that Wolves would definitely like to bring a winger in if it’s something they can do.
“It depends a lot on incoming, outgoings, where they are financially, how much they spend on a striker, what wiggle room they have. They’ve got a bit of movement to do something.”
Someone then asked if Wolves had any ‘wiggle room’ in January to which Keen replied: “Yes. There is definitely wiggle room.”
Another wide forward would be good
Hopefully we do see Wolves bringing in another wide forward in January, because there isn’t too much depth at the moment.
Wolves only have Hwang Hee-chan, Pedro Neto – who is currently injured, and does not have a great record with injuries overall – and Pablo Sarabia as natural wide options.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Rayan Ait-Nouri are also options to operate in the wide positions, but are not natural wingers. At the moment it does not seem that youngster Enso Gonzalez is not in the manager’s first-team plans.
It will be really interesting to see what Wolves do. Signing a striker is probably the most important thing, but some extra firepower out wide would be most welcome.
It’s been reported that Wolves don’t have a huge amount to spend, but from what Keen has said there is certainly a chance of a couple of new faces next month.
