Wolves have a huge week coming up, as Vitor Pereira eyes more new signings before the club’s opening Premier League game with Manchester City.
Wolves have finished their pre-season games now, and will go into the season without a victory under their belt.
Fans are concerned at the moment, with just three new faces having arrived against an exodus.
The feeling is that Wolves are going to struggle this season unless there is now a big push in the transfer window, because game-changing players have been lost.
But it’s been claimed Vitor Pereira is confident of signing a few more new players before the window shuts, so fans will cling onto that.
In recent days, Wolves have been linked with a move for Matthis Abline.
And now there’s been a development which may give some Wolves fans hope that a deal will come to fruition.
Jorge Mendes said to be pushing for Matthis Abline to join Wolves

Earlier this summer, Wolves restructured their recruitment division.
It saw Matt Hobbs leave Wolves, with the sporting director role getting dissolved.
Wolves now have several people involved in transfers and recruitment, with Domenico Teti playing a big role as the director of professional football.
As part of the restructure, the club will apparently lean on Jorge Mendes more this summer, as well as his right-hand man Valdir Cardoso.
And potentially Mendes may now be about to use his influence.
Because journalist Santi Aouna has suggested that Mendes is pushing for Abline – who has been the subject of a rejected bid from Paris FC – to join Wolves from Nantes.
Aouna had previously reported that there have been some ‘tensions’ around Abline’s situation at the French club, suggesting he had a verbal agreement with the management to leave this summer.
Lately it’s been looking as though he actually might stay, Aouna suggests.
But apparently Mendes is now pushing for the player to join Wolves, so potentially this might mean some movement soon.
Wolves need some Mendes magic over Abline

Some Wolves fans will potentially be relieved to learn of Mendes’ involvement in this transfer chase, but the agent may have a lot to do to bring a move to fruition.
It’s been suggested Nantes would look for around £43 million to part with the highly-rated Abline, who scored 11 goals last term.
Matthis Abline for Nantes |
Appearances – 60 |
Minutes played – 4117 |
Goals – 16 |
Assists – 3 |
That is not a fee Wolves would be willing to pay, especially for a 22-year-old.
It’s not the Wolves model – only twice before have the club shelled out over £40 million on a player, and both Matheus Cunha and Matheus Nunes came in as fairly experienced players with pedigree, who had played in the Champions League.
Hopefully, Mendes can work his magic and get Abline to Wolves for a much lower price.
