Jorge Mendes offers ‘unbelievable’ Wolves star to La Liga club, but they can’t afford him

Wolves attacker Pablo Sarabia is reportedly wanted by Real Sociedad, but any move by the Spanish club this month is going to be unlikely.

It was reported recently that Sociedad were seeking to land Sarabia after selling youngster Mohamed-Ali Cho to Nice recently.

It was claimed Nice wanted to sign a replacement who was an improvement on what they’ve already got.

The claims about Sociedad and Pablo Sarabia never felt particularly ominous, and it is now being suggested that the Spanish club won’t be moving for the 31-year-old this month – and there’s one key reason why…

It is being reported today by AS that Sociedad do indeed have an interest in signing Sarabia this month. He is apparently a ‘very popular’ name within the club’s hierarchy.

But the Champions League club simply cannot afford to sign him right now.

Sarabia is thought to be Wolves’ top earner at Molineux, on around £90,000-a-week. He’s under contract at Wolves until the summer of 2025, meaning Wolves are in a strong position for any negotiations.

There is an interesting line in the report that says that Jorge Mendes has actually offered Sarabia to the club, after speaking to his client.

But this would be meaningless if Sociedad could not present a suitable offer – and it sounds like they cannot.

Wolves need to be keeping Sarabia

Thankfully for Wolves, Sociedad do not seem to be in a position right now to make a suitable offer for Sarabia, despite Mendes apparently offering him to them.

He is a player that struggled for a while at Molineux, before coming good in the last few months, and Wolves should definitely not be looking to sell him. After all, Gary O’Neil believes he has ‘unbelievable quality’.

He is statistically one of the most creative players in the Premier League, and impressively has eight assists to his name this season across all competitions.

He’s stepped up in the absence of Pedro Neto, and the £4.5 million man appears to be thriving after finally getting a show of faith from O’Neil.
