An exciting transfer window is set to take centre stage at Wolves as Vitor Pereira looks to bolster his squad with talent.
It’s been an incredible five months since Pereira replaced Gary O’Neil as manager in December, with Wolves rising to 13th in the Premier League table after looking threatened by relegation.
The real test for the Portuguese boss now comes in the summer transfer window, as he realises the limitations of working under Fosun and the constant asset stripping.
Pereira has already warned Fosun about Wolves selling a lot of their talent, although no one can stand in the way of Matheus Cunha joining Manchester United or another club.
That being said, the Old Gold have been linked with several players before the season draws to a close, including a Liverpool attacker.

Jamie Carragher once tipped Harvey Elliott to replace Mohamed Salah
With Cunha set to depart Molineux, Pereira will be eyeing replacements for the 25-year-old and one of those is Harvey Elliott.
It emerged on Monday that Wolves are interested in signing Elliott from the Premier League champions, who has fallen down the pecking order under Arne Slot.
The 22-year-old has played just 258 minutes in the top flight this term, but his talent is unquestionable, with Jamie Carragher once tipping the Englishman to replace Mohamed Salah.
Speaking to GOAL in February 2022, Carragher said: “You have someone really special here, maybe in terms of Mo Salah’s replacement, if that’s the position he plays in.
“Mo Salah is getting to 30 now and we’re all desperate for him to sign a contract, but whenever Mo Salah goes, maybe you’ve got your ready-made replacement.
“Maybe not the same type of player, but a guy that plays on the right and comes in on that left foot.
“Maybe he’ll be more creative or maybe he’ll get less goals, who knows, but he’s definitely a special player and, in the next 18 months, he’ll have to find a position for him in the team because players of that quality have to play.”
Of course, Salah is irreplaceable as a world-class talent to the Reds, but Elliott is someone who has huge potential, and he could finally fulfil it at Wolves.

How Elliott compares to Matheus Cunha
Elliott normally plays in the space between the right channel and wing. He’s excellent at occupying those pockets, and when given a chance, he’s a weapon of mass destruction with his left foot.
For Wolves, the youngster would likely slot into one of Pereira’s number 10 positions, offering the license to express himself in transition, while becoming a creative force in attack.
When comparing Cunha to the Liverpool gem, it’s clear the Brazilian is more of a goal-scoring threat, but Elliott has also produced some impressive attacking metrics.
Matheus Cunha (past year) | Statistics per 90 | Harvey Elliott (past year) |
0.56 | Non-penalty goals | 0.46 |
3.54 | Total shots | 3.04 |
4.24 | Shot-creating actions | 5.17 |
0.21 | Assists | 0.46 |
4.83 | Progressive passes | 8.82 |
3.85 | Progressive carries | 2.74 |
5.52 | Progressive passes received | 7.15 |
2.15 | Successful take-ons | 0.61 |
Elliott beats the Wolves’ talisman across multiple statistics, notably shot-creating actions, progressive passes and assists per 90.
Creatively, it suggests he can fill the burden, but it would take something special for him to replace his 17 goals in all competitions, with another signing also required.
