Wolves have a lot of business to complete now that the January transfer window is officially open, with improvements to be made everywhere on the pitch.
Rob Edwards has already held a positive transfer meeting with Fosun ahead of the January transfer window.
However, Wolves fans will take it with a pinch of salt, as history tells us that business is often left to the last minute, and main transfer targets often end up going elsewhere.
Fer Lopez is one of the players being linked with a move away in January, with Celta Vigo supposedly in advanced talks for an 18-month loan deal.
What do we make of this, Wolves fans?
It's been claimed Fer Lopez is closing in on a loan move back to Celta Vigo – and he could stay for 18 months 🤔
He’s not the only one, though, as Emmanuel Agbadou has reportedly been the subject of a bid from Besiktas, which was swiftly rejected by Wolves.
Jamie Carragher predicts Jorgen Strand Larsen is set to leave
Jorgen Strand Larsen has looked like he has downed tools at times this season, which has seen him drop to the substitutes’ bench for Wolves’ last two games.
Crystal Palace and West Ham want Strand Larsen this month, but Wolves’ £40 million asking price is said to have put both parties off for now.
However, Jamie Carragher believes that the Norwegian will be out of the door in the opening week of the January transfer window after what he’s seen in recent weeks.
He said, speaking on Sky Sports.
“The fact that Larsen is on the bench, he was on the bench at Anfield a few days ago, on the bench now. That’s how I see it, and then maybe they use the funds to go buy three or four players.”
Who do you think will be the first to leave Wolves in January?🤔
Who will Wolves sign to replace Strand Larsen?
Well, Sam Surridge is one name that has popped up already before the January transfer window.
Sam Surridge concluded 2025 with a staggering 32 goals across all competitions, including 25 in league play and six in the US Open Cup.
In contrast, Strand Larsen has struggled for consistent output at Wolves during the first half of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
| Stat | Sam Surridge (Nashville SC) | Jorgen Strand Larsen (Wolves) |
| Appearances | 40 | 16 |
| Goals | 31 | 1 |
| Assists | 3 | 0 |
| Expected Goals (xG) | 25.86 | 2.68 |
| Shots on Target | 56 | 7 |
| Aerial Duels Won | 106 (53.8%) | 39 (40.6%) |
| Pass Accuracy | 66.7% | 65.9% |
Note: Surridge’s stats reflect his full 2025 MLS season; Strand Larsen’s reflect his 2025/26 Premier League campaign as of January 1, 2026.
