It has now been claimed what Wolves’ opening transfer offer for Jhon Arias will be

Wolves are looking to sign Jhon Arias from Fluminense.

It has been a sluggish start to the transfer window for Wolves, having only signed Fer Lopez so far.

But Liam Keen reported that Wolves are getting close to a couple of deals now, in what was a promising update.

And just hours after that suggestion, it was claimed that Wolves are in the mix to sign Arias from Fluminense.

Arias has impressed for the Brazilian outfit and seemingly Wolves feel he could be a strong addition following the losses of Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia.

Arias wants to play in Europe, and Wolves may well stand a good chance of getting him with his former teammate Andre making the same move last year.

Arias also plays with Yerson Mosquera at international level, so two familiar faces to him may prove to be a strong lure.

There has been talk of an offer incoming from Wolves – and one journalist has claimed how much it could be worth.

Wolves have already splashed £19.5 million on Fer Lopez this summer.

That was perhaps slightly overpaying, but Wolves still have plenty of cash in the bank after the sales of Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri.

It’s also been suggested that Wolves are generally in a healthier position financially this summer than in previous windows.

Wolves fans now have a strong focus on Arias, with some UK outlets and journalists beginning to cover the story.

But most of the information seems to be coming from Brazil – and now there has been a claim regarding Wolves’ first offer for the player.

Journalist Cauã Tinoco, who has been investigating the situation along with two other journalists connected to Fluminense for the YouTube channel Jornada KTO, has claimed on X: “Wolverhampton, from England, is negotiating the signing of Jhon Arias.

The English club has already initiated talks with Flu and the player and will make an initial official offer of around 15 million euros to secure the Colombian in this transfer window.

“As of the end of this Wednesday (9), the club had not yet received the official offer. Fluminense knows it will be difficult to hold onto Arias, and the player does not hide his desire to play in the Premier League.

“Flu owns 50% of the player, with the other half belonging to Patriotas, from Colombia. There is an internal idea at Flu that, once the offer arrives, they will negotiate with the Colombians for a larger share of the fee.”

Wolves may be knocked back with first Arias bid

So Wolves are potentially set to offer £13 million for Arias – but the club should brace for a swift rejection.

It’s been claimed that Fluminense don’t want to sell the South American winger, so with that in mind Wanderers may need to do a bit better.

Arias is one of their best players and has long been a key player for them. And data indicates he’s had a great 2025 so far.

He also signed a new contract with Fluminense earlier this year, and is tied down to the club until 2028.

He’s a player who is about to come into his prime, so we may well be seeing Fluminense holding out for a lot more than £13 million, if that really is going to be Wolves’ first offer.

Of course only last year, Fluminense got £21 million out of Wolves for Andre – so perhaps they will ultimately ask for a fee in that sort of ball park.
