Unsurprisingly, Wolves are one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs during the January transfer window’s Deadline Day.
Wolves announced Emmanuel Agbadou earlier in the window but have been keen to sign another centre-back before Monday night’s deadline.
And after holding talks with multiple clubs, it seems Vitor Pereira is finally close to getting a new defender after Wolves reached an agreement with Red Star to sign Nasser Djiga.
The 22-year-old centre-back might not be the only late addition to arrive at Molineux though.

Fabrizio Romano gives exciting Wolves transfer update
While all the focus will be on finalising Djiga’s transfer, there is hope the Old Gold can bring in another player before the registration’s cut-off.
Pereira has already confirmed he wants Wolves to sign a defensive midfielder to provide cover for the outgoing Mario Lemina, and despite there being limited movement so far, according to Fabrizio Romano, the 56-year-old could still get his wish.
“I think they can be busy in the final hours because they are still looking also at different options,” he told GiveMeSport (skip to 10m 05s)
“[…] I expect Wolves to do something else in the final hours of the window.”

Decisions, decisions
Even though Wolves are not close to making any more signings at the time of writing, they have been linked with several players — most of which being defensive midfielders.
With Pereira desperate to add a new midfielder in time for the rest of the season, the club’s decision-makers must now decide which target to pursue because plenty have been linked.
Wolves are interested in signing Burnley captain Josh Brownhill and could yet return for Dynamo Kyiv’s Volodymyr Brazhko.
