‘I like this’… Fans think Wolves could genuinely be about to make a smart transfer decision with £10m player

More players are set to leave Wolves in the coming weeks, and it looks like Nasser Djiga could be another outgoing at Molineux.

Wolves have seen a handful of players depart already this summer, with only Fer Lopez arriving.

Fans are now hoping to see the club get busy, and get some new faces through the door before in time for pre-season.

It is a vital window for Wolves, and failure to secure the right players could put the club in a world of trouble in 2025/26 with game-changing stars like Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri no longer on the books.

Wolves are not done with the outgoings yet.

And now, it’s been claimed that Nasser Djiga, only signed in January, could be set for a move away from Molineux this summer.

Djiga has made just six appearances so far for Wolves, after joining from Red Star Belgrade for around £10 million (E&S).

The general consensus was that the player was a little bit raw. Djiga had a decent full debut against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, after looking nervous against the Cherries in the Premier League meeting just days earlier.

Certainly, compared to the other centre-back signing Emmanuel Agbadou, Djiga wasn’t so impactful for Wolves.

The Express & Star has reported today that Wolves are now in talks to send Djiga out on loan to Scottish giants Rangers.

And the idea of that has actually gone down quite well with some Wolves fans.

@BrunneUrsi: “Yes, I like this. He needs regular game time to grow!”

@NathanR180: “Very good move for Djiga, think when we got him he was more of a panic buy but it’s an upgrade from his former club and regular game time.”

@BellegardeSZN: “Good idea, need experience before he gets into the first team.”

@reecepst: “Probably the best move for him. He is not needed at this moment and needs a loan like Mosquera at Valencia. Agbadou, Toti, Doc, Bueno, Mosquera is enough depth.”

Djiga to Rangers would be a great move

So Djiga could potentially seal a loan move to Rangers this summer, having mostly warmed the bench since he joined Wolves from Red Star.

While Wolves fans are crying out for some news about players coming into the club, this is a move that ought to happen.

Djiga will potentially be a sixth-choice central defender if he stuck around, with Agbadou, Toti Gomes, Matt Doherty, Santiago Bueno and even the returning Yerson Mosquera all ahead of him.

Djiga could really benefit from a loan as he needs to play regularly, and the physicality of the Scottish top-flight could really help his development.

Wolves have loaned Rangers a player before, when Fabio Silva went to Ibrox midway through the 2023/24 season.

So this could be something we see happen, and hopefully if it does, then Djiga can make a success of it and return to Molineux in 2026 a much better player.
