How Wolves view Tolu Arokodare signing as Jorgen Strand Larsen stance made

The future of Jorgen Strand Larsen has taken over the news in the last few weeks as Wolves look to try to hold onto their star forward.

Wolves have rejected multiple bids from Newcastle, and the Old Gold are adamant that the Norwegian isn’t for sale.

The striker is open to the move, but also isn’t pushing for it to happen either. Strand Larsen’s admission after scoring twice against West Ham will have Wolves fans optimistic, but it still isn’t guaranteed he stays.

Amid the uncertainty, Vitor Pereira is looking to add more forwards to his squad, with moves for Christantus Uche and Tolu Arokodare popping up over the last week.

There will be eyes on any links to strikers from Wolves, and what those implications mean for Strand Larsen.

And it has now been revealed how the club view the potential arrival of Arokodare.

Tolu Arokodare is seen as a separate deal and one that is ‘not linked to Jorgen Strand Larsen’, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Nigerian attacker would arrive at Molineux as a second striker, and is available for close to £20 million.

He would compete with Jorgen Strand Larsen, or could even play alongside the Norwegian, as seen by Vitor Pereira’s willingness to have two strikers up top against West Ham.

Both Strand Larsen and Sasa Kalajdzic were on the pitch at the same time as the Old Gold were 2-1 down and searched for two goals to win the cup tie.

A tactic that ultimately worked, as Wolves beat the Hammers 3-2.

At the moment, Jorgen Strand Larsen is Wolves’ only real goal scorer, and that comes with a lot of pressure.

Having just one player to rely on for putting the ball into the back of the net is not a great solution when trying to avoid a potential relegation battle.

Tolu Arokodare boasts an impressive goalscoring record, and having him come in to complement or alleviate the burden from Strand Larsen is certainly an appealing idea.

Wolves should move quickly to try to finalise this deal, as recent transfers have collapsed, and this is something they’ll want to avoid happening again.
