How Wolves can avoid losing Hugo Bueno this summer as key desire comes to light

Wolves are in for a very interesting summer, especially regarding the situations of Rayan Ait-Nouri and Hugo Bueno.

Wolves’ left side seems like it will be taking a real hit in the next transfer window.

It is widely expected that Matheus Cunha will leave Wolves, with Manchester United strongly interested in the Brazilian.

But Rayan Ait-Nouri is another top player at Wolves who could be one his way out, since he’s been at the club for five years now and is probably at peak value in relation to his contract.

Many Wolves fans hope the Algerian does not go.

But he’s a sellable asset, and if Fosun can make big profit on a player they bought for very little then they won’t hesitate.

But it remains to be seen what happens. If he does go, Molineux News has been told Hugo Bueno stands a great chance of becoming a Wolves regular.

Bueno has also been linked with an exit from Wolves with Bournemouth keen, but there is one thing that may well keep him at Molineux.

This season, Hugo Bueno has been out on loan at Dutch giants Feyenoord, where he’s played regularly and experienced the Champions League.

The feeling is that Bueno could be a natural successor for Rayan Ait-Nouri. But if Ait-Nouri stays then that may cast doubt on the Spaniard’s future as a Wolves player.

Journalist Liam Keen has been speaking about Bueno on the latest E&S podcast, and has told of Bueno’s love for the club and that he knows ‘for a fact’ that he wants to play regularly next season.

He said: “I’ve interviewed Bueno a few times, and while he’s been at Feyenoord. He’s spoken publicly since then as well and been a little bit coy about his future.

“I know for a fact that he’s desperate to play, he does love Wolves. I spoke to him about his love for the club. He arrived as a16-year-old in the academy – they spent around £3000 on him. What a steal that’s been, from a very small club in the non-league system of Spanish football. Fantastic scouting to bring him in and look what he’s become.

“Wolves is a home and family for him. But, equally, he’s desperate to play, I know the kind of character he is. I don’t think he’ll be happy not playing. That’s why if Ait-Nouri doesn’t go anywhere – and there’s no guarantees – I do worry he’ll want to go.”

Bueno leaving would be a massive shame

In an ideal world, Wolves will keep Ait-Nouri this summer. He’s a brilliant player, who can make things happen in the final third.

But it’s starting to feel more and more like he’ll go, with clubs knowing he’s been at Molineux for five years.

Bueno will surely go straight into Wolves’ starting XI next season if Ait-Nouri does leave.

However, if the Algerian stays that could see Bueno depart – which would be a huge shame. Especially considering these comments from Keen.

It is clear Wolves mean a great deal to Bueno after the club plucked him from obscurity and developed him.

Him going would leave a lot of people gutted. But ultimately, he’s now at a point where many clubs would start him regularly.

That all said, there may be a world where Ait-Nouri and Bueno both stay at Wolves and start regularly next term, with Ait-Nouri to perhaps play in the Cunha position.
