How Wolves are expected to respond to Newcastle’s third bid for Jorgen Strand Larsen

Newcastle remain active in their pursuit of Jorgen Strand Larsen – and it’s now been shared what they’re expected to do next.

So far, Wolves have rejected two bids for the Norwegian.

A £50 million bid was batted away by Wolves on Monday, then last night Wolves also rejected a £55 million offer.

The stance from Wolves is that they want to keep the player, who is the biggest goal threat at Molineux and someone who’ll be vital to the team.

But there have also been some suggestions that Wolves would eventually cave if Newcastle offered enough.

It was suggested £60 million might be enough to convince Wolves to sell Strand Larsen.

And now, there is word of what Newcastle are expected to do, and how Wolves will respond.

Strand Larsen reminded everyone last night how good a player he can be.

He scored twice for Wolves, as he inspired the team to a comeback win against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup.

It was a performance that proved just how important it is for Wolves to keep hold of their number nine, as tempting as it may be to make a big, instant profit on him.

It has been reported this afternoon by Sky journalist Keith Downie that Newcastle are now going to come in with a £60 million bid for Strand Larsen.

But those worried that this will be enough to sign Strand Larsen will be buoyed by a new claim from Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope that any bids of £60 million plus will be turned down by Wanderers.

Wanderers are standing firm and the message is clear – Strand Larsen isn’t for sale, so only astronomical money may bring a deal to fruition.

Wolves’ stance is admirable

It is actually somewhat surprising that Wolves are standing this firm over Strand Larsen.

We’ve already seen how Rayan Ait-Nouri was sold for a fee that was probably below his true market value.

And just overall, it has not been a good summer for Wolves. So a lot of fans have been expecting Strand Larsen to be offloaded for a fee around what Newcastle have been offering.

But it seems the decision-makers at Molineux grasp how essential it is to keep Strand Larsen.

We know the club like to turn a big profit on players, but seemingly the potential for relegation if Strand Larsen left is playing a big part.
