How Rennes are currently feeling about beating Wolves in Kevin Danso transfer race

Wolves are fighting to sign Kevin Danso, but face competition from French outfit Rennes.

Wanderers landed Emmanuel Agbadou earlier in the transfer window, but are targeting another centre-back before the deadline – and Kevin Danso is the club’s top target.

Wolves have already failed with two bids for Danso this week.

There have been several updates on the Austria international, but Wolves are set to make a third bid which they hope might be enough to convince Lens to sell.

Lens reportedly want around £25 million in total for Danso.

This is one that could well rumble on for days yet, and Rennes are also in the mix to sign him.

Tonight, there has been a claim regarding how they rate their chances of signing Danso over Wolves in the coming days.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Rennes are increasingly confident of beating Wolves to the transfer of Danso.

It’s stated that they are currently much closer to Lens’ valuation of the player.

It is thought that Wolves’ second bid for Danso that was rejected was around £18.5 million.

Rennes were said to be pushing for Danso ‘in a very serious’ manner earlier this week and this new claim is bound to have some Wolves fans worried. Especially after it was suggested Danso actually favoured a move to Rennes.

Axel Disasi is another player Wolves have been linked with but the Chelsea man is said to only want to join Aston Villa this month.

So that makes it all the more important for Wolves to sign Danso, given one of their alternatives is seemingly now off the table.

Wolves cannot lose out on Kevin Danso to Rennes

Rennes’ increasing confidence that they will sign Danso over Wolves is obviously not a guarantee that they’ll get him.

But it’s another worrying claim in this transfer saga, and Wolves have got to try and make some headway before much longer.

Lens are demanding around £25 million right now and seemingly Wolves are looking to pay below that figure.

Wolves have no time to lose and are not in a position to be haggling. They simply need to get the player in and if that means slightly overpaying then so be it.

The alternative is missing out and either winding up with someone who isn’t as good as Danso, or nobody at all which would be unthinkable.
