How much Wolves will have to pay for transfer target Emmanuel Latte Lath
This week, Wolves’ interest in Emmanuel Latte Lath came to light, as the Old Gold are said to be eyeing the Middlesbrough talisman.
RB Salzburg, Stuttgart and Monaco join Wolves as the clubs credited with admiring the 25-year-old, who impressed in the Championship last season.
It’s understood that Wolves are operating on a tight budget this summer after their spending earlier in the window, which could prove to be a problem when it comes to Latte Lath.
Molineux News have been informed that Middlesbrough could ask for a price in excess of £20m for the striker, who is valued highly by Michael Carrick.
There is a belief that the forward is seen as a crucial part of Carrick’s plans to push for promotion next season, reinforcing why Boro are demanding a high price for their marksman.
Middlesbrough’s high asking price for Latte Lath is understandable
Not only is Latte Lath a vital cog in Carrick’s machine, but the striker is also under contract at The Riverside Stadium until 2027.
Boro only signed the Atalanta academy product last summer, where he quickly became a player important to the club’s goal of graduating from the second tier.
Last season, the Wolves target contributed to 19 goals over the 2023/24 campaign, setting the Championship alight in his first taste of English football.
Given what Latte Lath offered to Boro going forward last term, it’s clear to see why O’Neil would be drawn to the Ivorian’s profile, being a player capable of causing havoc in the box.
There may be some reservations about Boro’s asking price for their talisman at Molineux however, making an approach for the forward would be smart as O’Neil looks to add depth to his squad ahead of deadline day.
Only time will tell how Wolves value the player and if they are prepared to match Boro’s high valuation.
