How many signings Vitor Pereira is trying to make as Wolves hit with Premier League complication

Wolves’ plans for the final days of the window have been revealed.

We’re now getting into the business end of transfer season, with just a few days left in which to make moves happen.

Wolves have addressed the centre-back position with the official announcement of Ladislav Krejci.

But there’s still plenty of work to do.

Wolves plan on signing a forward and a central midfielder

According to The Athletic, two new signings are planned at Wolves.

Regardless of the recent Jorgen Strand Larsen noise, Wolves need another striker. Fabio Silva is travelling to Dortmund for his medical, and Crystal Palace and PSV both want Hwang Hee-chan.

With Sasa Kalajdzic clearly not seen as first-team material, a striker is a must. Christantus Uche was thought to be coming in, but that deal has unravelled quickly. Next on the list are Corinthians’ Yuri Alberto and Genk’s Tolu Arokodare.

The other planned transfer is to add depth to the midfield.

Carlos Soler’s move to Real Sociedad means no targets are known at this point, but Wolves may need to shop in a very specific market.

One of Wolves’ new signings needs to be ‘homegrown’ to meet Premier League requirements

Vitor Pereira will be desperate for anyone to come through the door in the next week, but the current make-up of Wolves’ squad limits his options.

Premier League rules stipulate a limit of 17 non-homegrown players in a squad.

Homegrown refers to a player who spent at least three years in the youth system in either England or Wales.

Unless some more sales go through, Wolves won’t be able to sign more than one player from overseas.

Hopefully, Wolves can resolve this, either by buying homegrown or selling players who don’t qualify. We’ll see how it plays out over the next few days.
