How Manchester City feel about Wolves valuation of Pedro Neto ahead of summer window

Wolves are bracing themselves for a lot of interest this summer in Pedro Neto, with Manchester City one club credited with being keen.

Neto has enjoyed an ‘outstanding’ campaign in 2023/24, although he has also spent a fair bit of time on the sidelines through injury.

The Portugal international is currently out with his second hamstring injury of the season, and is hoping to perhaps make a couple of appearances before the campaign finishes.

Neto has made 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and making 11 assists.

The 24-year-old has dazzled at times, and often been the standout performer when he has been on the pitch.

Fans are realistic about Neto. They know that he is going to be targeted by other clubs this summer and the feeling is that he will be the next big sale at the club, after Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes.

Manchester City have been linked – and a report has now shared how they feel about Wolves’ valuation of the player…

City have been linked with Neto a couple of times now, with Pep Guardiola having been complimentary about him in the past.

It is little wonder they like him. Last summer, the Premier League champions signed a number of quick ball-carriers, and Neto is definitely that kind of player.

Yesterday, it was claimed that City are now in talks with Wolves over a potential deal to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri. It was also suggested that the club could offer Sergio Gomez in any deal.

In that report, there was also word on the club’s feelings about signing Neto.

According to Football Transfers, City feel that Wolves’ current £80 million valuation of Neto is ‘excessive’.

It is stated that ‘a summer move to Man City isn’t out of the question, given their historical interest, although the reigning treble winners are extremely unlikely to pay Wolves’ current asking price’.

Neto injury record may force Wolves to lower demands

So City seemingly feel that Neto’s current £80 million valuation is far too high – and other clubs are probably going to have a similar stance.

We all know how brilliant Neto is, and that he is capable of providing moments of magic on the pitch.

But the player’s injury record is definitely going to be something that these interested clubs factor in when making their offers this summer.

The star has spent a lot of time in the treatment room in the last few years.

It remains to be seen what kind of bids come in for Neto. But it would be no surprise if Wolves did end up accepting an offer that was more towards the £60-70 million mark, rather than £80 million.
