Wolves fans wanted to believe the Jorgen Strand Larsen to Newcastle rumours were just noise, but weeks later, they still aren’t going away.
Newcastle have been hunting for a striker all summer.
The relationship with Alexander Isak has evidently soured and with Callum Wilson gone, they are in the midst of a crisis in that position.

It was thought they were shifting their focus away from Jorgen Strand Larsen amid links to Yoane Wissa and Randal Kolo Muani, but an update on Newcastle’s striker search suggests Wolves aren’t out of the woods yet.
David Ornstein says Newcastle still considering Jorgen Strand Larsen and he’s keen on the possibility
The Athletic’s David Ornstein made a revelation on Tuesday morning that won’t be well-received by Wolves fans.
Discussing The Magpies’ latest links, he writes: “Newcastle retain a firm interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen as they look to strengthen in attack before the market shuts. A deal for Strand Larsen is not more advanced than other options, but the 25-year-old striker is among a small group of names under consideration.”

He then reveals the player’s stance, and it’s a worry: “Discussions at this point are taking place via intermediaries, rather than between clubs, and Strand Larsen is keen on the possibility.”
This is the last thing Wolves need. Strand Larsen is the only player still in the squad who had double-digit goal involvements last season, and losing him would surely put the final nail in the coffin in relation to the Wolves attack.
Jorgen Strand Larsen won’t force a move to Newcastle
The ‘player empowerment’ on display this summer has been something to behold. Newcastle will know about that all too well. Their star player, Isak, has gone on strike trying to force a move to Liverpool, as has one of their main targets, Wissa.
Thankfully, it appears Strand Larsen won’t follow suit, as Ornstein says: “He is not agitating to leave Wolves.”
Considering he only joined the club permanently at the start of summer, you would hope this is the case.
Wolves need to show some backbone here. They have already named their price for Strand Larsen, but as nice as a £65 million fee would be, Fosun have shown us nothing to suggest they will reinvest that money well, or at all, in what’s left of the transfer window.
This sale cannot happen, or Wolves will be toothless going forward and ultimately struggle to stay up this season.
