But Wolves have missed out on the Jamaica international.

Aston Villa have now confirmed Bailey as having signed for them, and it’s being reported the transfer has cost around £30 million in total (Goal).

It seems he could well be a replacement for Jack Grealish.

Talk of Bailey coming to the Premier League has been around for a while now.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on, and if Wolves will live to regret not challenging Villa for his services. Especially if Adama Traore leaves in the next few weeks.

A couple of days ago, talkSPORT’s German football expert Andy Brassell, really talked up the player.

He said (via Birmingham Mail): “Bailey is an interesting one because he’s got all the talent in the world, we’ve known that for a long time, and he shows up in big matches

“On his day he can be incredible, he’s got everything. He’s a winger and he can go inside and outside, he’s got a very powerful shot, he can score from anywhere.

“If Villa get that consistency out of him, they’ll have got themselves an absolute bargain.”

Bailey might be uncomfortable viewing

These comments from someone who has watched Bailey regularly will make great reading for Aston Villa fans.

It could be that Wolves have missed out on a real player here, although who knows if he was actually ever a viable signing.

Hopefully, Traore stays and shows there is no need for any regrets.
