Harvey Elliott asking price now shared as Wolves eye transfer for Liverpool star

Wolves fans are hoping to see a productive summer after Vitor Pereira changed the picture at Molineux.

The mood at the club right now has not been as good as this for a long time, with fans loving how Vitor Pereira has instigated a major turnaround in such a short space of time.

Many now feel he has earned a significant level of backing from Fosun this summer.

Whether he gets that, though, remains to be seen. As we all know, Fosun like to adopt a self-sustaining approach when it comes to player recruitment.

But to get to the next level, Fosun may need to release the purse strings a little.

And they’ll certainly need to do that if they are to stand any chance of signing Harvey Elliott this summer.

Wolves are likely to make an enquiry about Harvey Elliott this summer, with the youngster having struggled for minutes at Anfield.

Elliott signed for the Reds in 2019 from Fulham, and has had some exciting moments for the club.

But he is still yet to nail down a starting berth and as such, there is now talk he could leave.

Recently, Elliott left the door open for a potential exit. He told the Liverpool Echo: “I hope that I can push on [next season].

“This is my team, I am committed to them and it’s just a situation that is always going to have a lot of talk, I just need to think about what is best for my future, my career and as much as I want it to be here.”

It seems, though, that Liverpool would be open to moving on.

According to talkSPORT, Elliott is currently valued at over £40 million. So Wolves would have to make him one of their most expensive signings ever to get him.

Previously, Wolves have shelled out over £40 million on a player only twice before – on Matheus Cunha in January 2023 and on Matheus Nunes in August 2022.

Wolves won’t move for Elliott at £40m

If Liverpool really want in excess of £40 million for Elliott, then there is next to no chance of this happening.

Elliott is talented, but at this stage clubs would be paying for potential. And it’s hard to see Wolves wanting to take a risk, when huge fees have been spent on young players in the past without success.

Assists – 19

More recently we’ve seen Wolves pay relatively modest fees for players and have success. And it’s been claimed £20 million may be the highest fee Wolves play for any one player this summer.

The likes of Emmanuel Agbadou, Marshall Munetsi, and Andre and Joao Gomes didn’t break the bank and are great players.

Wolves’ recruitment of late has shown that you don’t need to pay huge fees to build a quality squad. Surely, there will be players out there in other leagues who have a similar profile to Elliott who are much cheaper.
