Gladbach manager discusses potential Nico Elvedi exit

The manager of Borussia Monchengladbach has been speaking about the chances of an exit for Nico Elvedi, amid interest from Wolves.

Wanderers fans are hoping to see some incomings soon, with it having been a slow start to the summer so far.

Wolves have sold Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins, Conor Coady and Dion Sanderson. And Raul Jimenez is set to be the next high profile name to leave. The Mexican is to join Fulham.

Daniel Podence could also depart.

On the incomings front, only Matt Doherty has arrived so far.

But there have been a few links, and one man Wolves apparently want to bring in is Elvedi from Gladbach.

And now their manager has commented on the potential for the 26-year-old to leave the German outfit.

Gerardo Seoane coy on potential Nico Elvedi departure, amid Wolves interest

Currently, the Gladbach squad is undertaking a training camp at Lake Tegernsee.

Elvedi is actually there right now, as speculation about his future swirls.

Seoane did not give too much away when speaking about the Switzerland international and his future.

He said (as quoted by gladbachlive.de): “You know what business is like. There can always be a development. Nico is here at the training camp. He’s working well, we’re continuing to work with him, he could also come to play. Let’s see what happens.”

Potentially, there could be movement soon.

Because Gladbach have reportedly identified another centre-back to potentially join them.

Apparently, Max Wober of Leeds United could be coming in.

Potentially this would then open the door for Wolves to sign Elvedi, who has declined to sign an extension at the club.

Wolves need to get Nico Elvedi in ASAP

Hopefully Gladbach can complete a deal for Wober very soon because that is something that could help Wolves in their pursuit of Elvedi.

At the moment, Julen Lopetegui only has three centre-halves.

He needs at least one more, and he needs that new face in as quickly as possible, with pre-season now being well underway.

At the moment, from Seoane’s comments, nothing is imminent.

But transfers in football can happen quickly. And it’s at least good that Seoane did not rule out Elvedi leaving the club.
