Nuno Espirito Santo could be about to steal a transfer target from Wolves as one Nottingham Forest plan has emerged.
Nuno departed Wolves in 2021 but the Portuguese coach’s influence never really left, with the former manager’s glory days still widely referenced.
After some trialling years under Bruno Lage and Gary O’Neil, the Old Gold are finding joy in working under Vitor Pereira, who is set for a busy summer at Molineux.
Wolves appear to be safe from relegation and now, Pereira can start to consider the summer transfer window but, one former target might be difficult to acquire.

Nuno Espirito Santo pushing to sign Gary O’Neil target at Wolves
One of the problems that O’Neil found at Wolves was that his transfer wishes were not granted by owners Fosun.
It’s a stumbling block that has plagued several managers in charge of the Old Gold and is something that Fosun cannot afford to get wrong with Pereira.
A lot is riding on the summer transfer window, with several areas clearly needing attention, including the attack.
O’Neil had plans to bolster the front line, which he did to some degree in the summer of 2024 but, one target was unable to be secured.
Wolves wanted to sign Baris Alper Yilmaz of Galatasaray and now, the winger appears to be closer to making the move to the Premier League.

Unfortunately, it’s not Pereira who looks set to land the Turkey international, who is wanted desperately by Nuno at Nottingham Forest.
That’s the understanding of Takvim, who have reported that Nuno is ‘not giving up’ on signing the former Wolves target.
At the time of Wolves’ interest, Yilmaz was said to have an asking price of £26m, which has since lowered to around the £21m mark, as per the update.
Vitor Pereira should pick up O’Neil’s interest in Yilmaz
Wolves know how highly rated Yilmaz is, with the 24-year-old backed to represent one of Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future.
While Nuno could be in the position to offer the forward Champions League football, that shouldn’t end Wolves’ hopes of signing the Euro 2024 star.
Pereira has hinted that he wants another attacker, specifically one who can offer one-versus-one quality, which Yilmaz certainly could.
As per Sofascore, the winger averages 1.5 successful dribbles per game in the Super Lig, as well as having 13 goal contributions so far this term.
Nuno sees the appeal in the player, just as O’Neil did, which is something Pereira could be tempted to explore this summer.
