Gary O’Neil thinks Wolves are about to sign ‘an exciting young talent’

Gary O’Neil believes Wolves are on the verge of signing ‘an exciting young talent’ in the form of Noha Lemina, who has undergone his medical today.

The Wanderers head coach appeared before reporters today ahead of the Premier League game with Manchester United on Thursday.

O’Neil provided team news, and also fielded questions about transfers, with just over 24 hours remaining in the window.

Amid lots of speculation, it looks as though Wolves are going to finish the window with at least one signing, with Noha Lemina to come in on loan from Paris Saint-Germain after an agreement was reached in recent days.

O’Neil actually spoke about the club’s prospective new signing today, and he reckons Wolves are landing themselves a fine young player…

O’Neil has pretty much confirmed that Wolves will indeed be landing Lemina from PSG.

It has been reported that he will be coming in on loan, and there will apparently be an option to buy the youngster, with journalist Fabrice Hawkins claiming this morning that it will be Noha himself who decides if that option is triggered.

Noha has struggled for game time this season, having gotten just one 10-minute cameo on loan at Sampdoria, and he will hope that his move to Wolves can be much more fruitful.

Speaking about the youngster today, O’Neil said (Express & Star): “That one is very close and we’re hopeful it will be done.

“He’s an exciting young talent. Maybe he’s not expected to impact the first team group instantly, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t because he has some fantastic attributes.

“He’s powerful, fast, and a good lad who is willing to work hard. He has Mario here to help him settle as well.

“It’s a good one for the club as he has the potential to progress into an extremely talented player. Who knows, if he’s able to settle in quickly and impact things fast, we may be able to see him around some first team games.”

Noha Lemina is a fascinating addition

Noha Lemina signing for Wolves is a really interesting one.

For one reason or another, it did not work out for him at Sampdoria but Wolves are willing to take a chance on him, and the buy option that’s been negotiated seems very reasonable.

O’Neil’s verdict on the player is very encouraging. He clearly feels that the club are landing a very exciting prospect in Mario’s brother.

It may be that he starts with James Collins and the U21s, like Enso Gonzalez has, before potentially making an impact for the first-team later in the season.
