Gary O’Neil has shared an update on Daniel Podence’s future at Wolves as a offer has come in on Deadline Day.
Earlier this week, it was expected that Podence would stay at Wolves as O’Neil was clearly impressed by his display against Burnley.
The winger returned to Compton this summer following a successful loan spell at Olympiacos, where he won the Europa Conference League.
Despite returning to Wolves and impressing in pre-season, the manager has now admitted that the winger could leave on Deadline Day.

Gary O’Neil shares Daniel Podence transfer stance amid Saudi interest
While fans’ focus is very much on Deadline Day, O’Neil will have his mind set on Wolves securing three points against Nottingham Forest tomorrow.
The manager’s pre-match press conference started as a transfer round-up, providing O’Neil with the chance to comment on Podence’s future.
Podence has been linked to Al-Shabab, as the boss hinted that a move could materialise before the close of play today.

“I think Daniel is getting close to leaving, we worked very hard with him,” O’Neil explained.
“He’s had some periods where he was unhappy, came back in pre-season and worked his socks off.
“He has had an excellent offer for him and his family so discussions have been ongoing on what’s best for him and the football club.”
There were question marks over Podence’s future throughout the summer following his loan, with the winger being linked to Olympiacos for the majority of the transfer window.
Instead, a move to Saudi looks to be on the cards however, Wolves may have some further negotiations to tend to before an exit can be sanctioned.
Wolves must get the right price for Podence
As O’Neil’s press conference was taking place, journalist John Percy reported the finances behind the possible deal.
While the transfer is “moving closer”, Percy claimed that the fee is currently around £5m, with a big sell-on included.
Wolves want £10m for Podence, with it yet to be seen if the £5m price is enough for Al-Shabab to lure the winger away from Molineux.
Percy’s update also included where Wolves stand if Podence does leave, stating that the club will consider a winger and/or a centre-back as part of a loan deal before tonight’s deadline.
It’s said to be a decisive afternoon and evening at Compton, as Matt Hobbs and O’Neil get to work at getting the squad in shape depending on the movement before the deadline.
