Mario Lemina Wolves transfer update: Galatasaray move desired

The 31-year-old’s fall from grace is quite staggering, with Wolves fans now turning on Lemina due to his unacceptable behaviour in recent weeks.

A Saudi move is looking to be a real possibility, as Al-Shabab made a formal approach for Lemina however, Pereira’s former club have other options.

While a Saudi move is there, reports in Turkey indicate that the player is actually fantasising about a return to Galatasaray.

In a Fotomac podcast, it was reported that the Turkish club have ‘accelerated’ their aspiration to sign Lemina, with it claimed that the midfielder is open to the transfer.

The former captain is said to be ‘keen’ to have another shot at football in Istanbul, following his lacklustre loan spell with Galatasaray in the 2019/20 campaign.

Lemina has been linked to Galatasaray this window, with it now suggested that the Gabon international is eyeing a transfer to the Europa League side.

Lemina transfer saga must be resolved promptly

Pereira did not want to sell Wolves players this January however, the manager will have to give Lemina a wide berth as the 31-year-old is uninterested at Molineux.

Galatasaray are eager to re-sign Lemina and are not out of the race despite Al-Shabab’s approach, with the Turkish giants needing to do one thing to get their man.

Wolves want £5m for Lemina, giving the Istanbul club the opportunity to land their target if they can offer what the Old Gold demand.

Wolves are happy to let Lemina depart to bring the transfer saga to a close, in what is a petulant situation in an already difficult time for the squad.

Only time will tell where the midfielder’s next steps will be, with a quick solution needed.
