Wolves fans enjoyed some of their best memories in recent times under Nuno Espirito Santo and Ruben Neves’ guidance.
Gone are the days of challenging for the European places and making it all the way to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, but they are great memories to look back on.
Nuno Espirito Santo made Wolves fans believe again when he was appointed as Paul Lambert’s successor all the way back in May of 2017.
He managed 199 games at Wolves and finished with a very respectable points per game average of 1.68, which included promotion from the Championship, the aforementioned Europa League finish, and a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
However, he couldn’t have done it without former Wolves captain, Ruben Neves, who played a massive part with his 253 appearances for the Old Gold.

Nuno Santo wants Ruben Neves to join him at West Ham United
Ruben Neves made the move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal from Wolves for a fee of £47 million.
It was a move that has changed his and his family’s lives forever, but there have been rumours that Neves may return to the Premier League in the January transfer window.
This potential return appears to be picking up ahead of steam, as it’s been claimed by TeamTalk that the former Wolves midfielder won’t be signing a new deal at Al-Hilal.
Nuno Espirito Santo has sprung into action on the back of this and has requested that the West Ham owners try to persuade him to move to the London Stadium.
However, it is claimed that with many other clubs interested in his services and West Ham’s current position, a transfer is unlikely.

What might have been if Wolves hadn’t fallen from grace
Given West Ham currently sit two places above Wolves, perhaps Ruben Neves may have been open to a return to Molineux if the club hadn’t messed things up so badly.
You struggle to see what any player would see in a move to Wolves in January, let alone Neves, with European clubs chasing him.
Wolves fans were debating a potential Ruben Neves return just eight months ago, which shows how things have changed.
The threat that Neves provides from outside the area and his creativity would have been the missing piece in this Wolves side, but instead, it looks like we’ll have to watch him in another shirt.
