Fabio Silva has enjoyed a tremendous start to his loan spell at Anderlecht.
The 20-year-old is spending the season with the Belgian outfit in a bid to play regularly and hopefully score some goals.
And scoring goals is exactly what’s been doing pretty much since he stepped foot through the door.
At the weekend, Silva bagged his fifth in six games for the club.
That haul means he’s actually now scored more for Anderlecht that in his two years at Wolves.
Wanderers could not really have hoped for a better start for their young star, and Silva has now come in for some very high praise indeed from a former Anderlecht player.
Marc Degryse played as a striker for the club from 1989 until 1995, and has been thoroughly impressed with Silva so far.
He told HLN: “Of all the strikers that Anderlecht has signed in recent seasons, Fabio Silva is the best finisher. He can score in different ways. Even with the head, which far too few attackers can still do well. It has almost become a rarity.
“Fabio Silva breathes goals – he scores almost every game.”
Degryse also stated that Silva’s talent was clear upon his arrival at Wolves. It was just him being thrust into the starting XI after the injury to Raul Jimenez that didn’t help his cause.
Silva’s contributions so far have helped Anderlecht up to third in the Belgian Pro Division A table.
With three goals in the league, Silva is currently the joint-top scorer in the competition.
Wolves officials will be loving Marc Degryse’s comments about Fabio Silva
Silva’s brilliant start for Anderlecht is fantastic to see, and Degryse’s comments are hugely encouraging.
The former FC Porto youngster is clearly demonstrating a much improved eye for goal.
Some of his finishes so far have been exceptional.
He’s clearly working very hard on the training pitch, and hopefully he will keep getting picked to start games.
Ultimately that is the most important thing this season.
