Wolves could be set for a busy summer window, and the Championship may be an ideal hunting ground for Pereira’s side.
Wolves have often aimed their transfer strategy at overseas players, but the Molineux outfit may be wise to keep one eye on the lower leagues during the upcoming window.
The Championship has been a breeding ground for some of England’s brightest talents, with EFL products Morgan Rogers and Archie Grey shining in the Premier League as of late.
With this in mind, Molineux News have analysed five possible Championship signings Wolves could make this summer.

Josh Sargent
Sasa Kalajdzic recently returned to training after a lengthy injury, but it remains to be seen whether Pereira will fancy him as a back-up option to Jorgen Strand Larsen.
With this in mind, Wolves could target striker reinforcements this summer, and Norwich’s Josh Sargent could be a potential option.
Wolves were reportedly looking at the American forward last summer, according to GiveMeSport, so they could reignite their interest in the upcoming window.
The Canaries forward finished fourth in the Championship goalscoring table, despite being injured for a large proportion of the campaign, suggesting he could bring goals to Molineux.
Borja Sainz
Matheus Cunha’s expected departure will leave a gaping hole in Wolves’ frontline, one they could potentially fill with Norwich’s Borja Sainz.
The Spaniard has been one of the Championship’s standout players this season with 18 goals and four assists to his name.
Norwich missed out on the play-offs, and it seems like Sainz does not fancy another year in the EFL – with this in mind, Wolves may be able to secure his signature for a bargain fee.
Gustavo Hamer

Pereira’s squad is currently stacked with defensive and central midfielders, but one position they are arguably lacking is a number ten – enter Gustavo Hamer.
Wolves were targeting Hamer in July 2024, and they may revisit that interest this summer.
The midfielder enjoyed a very successful campaign with Sheffield United, picking up the Championship player of the year award.
But with the Blades missing out on automatic promotion, they may be forced to sell if they can’t secure Premier League football via the play-offs, presenting a possible low-price option for Wolves.
Dennis Cirkin
With Rayan Ait-Nouri generating transfer interest ahead of the summer window, it may be wise for the Wolves hierarchy to start lining up some replacements.
One Championship player, who could fit the bill, is Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin.
Wolves have been linked with Cirkin in recent weeks and are reportedly keeping tabs on the Spurs academy graduate.
If Sunderland don’t manage to secure promotion via the play-offs, the left-back could be available on the cheap with the Black Cats possibly needing to sell.
Japhet Tanganga

From one ex-Spurs man to another, Japhet Tanganga could be an interesting pickup for Pereira’s side.
Wolves were linked with Tanganga back in January, and they could revisit their interest this summer following Millwall’s failure to secure a play-off spot.
Despite failing to make the grade at Tottenham, the 26-year-old is clearly destined for football higher than the Championship – something Jose Mourinho was keen to highlight during his time as Spurs boss (via BBC Sport).
“Tanganga’s already in the dressing room, with Skipp,” Mourinho said.
“Both are fantastic kids – both kids in which we believe a lot.
“The difference is with Japhet that the big opportunity appeared. With Skipp that has not happened yet – the big opportunity to start matches and play many minutes.
“But both are in the first-team dressing room. And our objective – what we are working on – is to make them Tottenham players for many years.”
