Feyenoord now interested in signing another player from Wolves after Hugo Bueno

It is set to be a busy few days at Compton Park, with Wolves expected to ship out a few players before Friday’s transfer deadline.

It has been a quiet summer for the club so far regarding permanent player exits. Only Pedro Neto and Max Kilman have been sold.

The likes of Daniel Podence, Goncalo Guedes and Fabio Silva are all likely to depart.

Most of the deals that have been done so far have been loan exits. Nathan Fraser, Tawanda Chirewa, Ki-Jana Hoever have all left temporarily, as has Hugo Bueno, who recently joined Feyenoord.

And it seems the Dutch club have now set their sights on a second player from Wolves.

It has been reported by Voetbal International that Feyenoord have now enquired about taking Boubacar Traore on loan from Wolves.

Traore emerged as a target for Lens earlier this summer, but nothing followed that claim and it has been relatively quiet on him since.

The £9.5 million star went to the Olympics with Mali, and was the final player to return to the club this summer.

Traore struggled for starts again last season, with Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes the preferred picks for Gary O’Neil in midfield.

Competition for places is very tough at Molineux right now, especially in midfield. So there is a real possibility the club may decide to loan Traore out.

Should that happen, it may be that Luke Cundle stays. The youngster is said to have impressed O’Neil in pre-season.

Traore loan exit would be no surprise

Traore made the Wolves bench on Sunday for the game against Chelsea, after missing out against Arsenal.

It’ll be really interesting to see what Wolves do with the 23-year-old in the coming days. Towards the end of last season, Traore was in good form for Wolves and was showing signs that he might be able to challenge Lemina and Gomes a bit more this term. Arguably, he finished last season as one of Wolves’ better performers.

He is similar to those players in terms of being a ball-winner and being physical.

But the emergence of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde as an option to play slightly deeper won’t help him, and the potential for Cundle to stick around would also not be ideal. Then, of course, there is Tommy Doyle for further competition.

So it would be no surprise if Wolves did loan out Traore, and sent him to Feyenoord to reunite with Bueno.
