Fans left pleasantly surprised by what’s just come out about Ladislav Krejci, ‘fair play Wolves’

Wolves are close to making their fifth signing of the summer in the form of Ladislav Krejci.

It has been a very turbulent window for Wanderers and the coming days are bound to be very busy, with Wolves having struggled to land targets in recent weeks.

But there’s some optimism of new players coming in – and Ladislav Krejci is on course to join Wolves.

The Czech defender will come in and provide some cover and competition for Toti Gomes, and Vitor Pereira will be pleased to get that additional left-sided defender in.

Matt Doherty could be stung by Krejci’s arrival, but we will see how Pereira decides to proceed.

Krejci is now due for his medical at Wolves and all being well, he’ll get a training session or two under his belt before this weekend’s game with Everton.

Earlier this afternoon, a rather interesting claim was made about Krejci’s move to Wolves – and fans have reacted very positively.

It had initially been suggested that Wolves were paying around £26 million for Krejci.

That is a big fee for someone who is still relatively unknown, and plenty of fans were raising their eyebrows.

But journalist David Ornstein reported this afternoon that Wolves are actually set to sign Krejci on loan from Girona initially, before buying him permanently next year.

The loan will cost £6 million, with Wolves holding the option to buy for £20 million next year.

The £20 million buy option will be based on games, Ornstein adds, essentially making the deal permanent.

On social media, fans have praised Wolves for this negotiating which has allowed for the spreading of the cost.

@JoshOnWolves: “Great news, £6m out of the budget this year, allows us to target additional players. Fair play Wolves 👏”

@James__Williams: “Wow that might actually be a great financial deal for us for a change 😂 hopefully he’s better than what we have already!!!”

@TomWWFC_: “Much better then the initial proposed deal we heard, happy with this.”

@DingleDave01: “Quality deal, also selling Fabio for north of £20m is insane. Hopefully get a few more in to help the squad.”

A smart play from Wolves over Krejci

It’s been a pretty bad window for Wolves but the club deserve some credit here.

By structuring the deal like this, Wolves will now have more money stored to work with on other key deals in the final days of the window.

Hopefully, Krejci can now come in and hit the ground running.

It will be so vital this season for Wolves to be resolute at the back, because the squad has lost the likes of Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pablo Sarabia, who could all provide magic higher up the pitch.

And it’s not out of the question Jorgen Strand Larsen could leave for Newcastle in the coming days.

So being defensively strong is paramount, and Krejci will hopefully deliver consistent performances at the back.
