Fabrizio Romano drops significant Wolves transfer update, ‘deal just sealed’ for £21m signing

Wolves are heading for a very busy finish to the transfer window, with at least three new players coming into the club.

Wolves started the summer very positively, signing three new players and turning Tommy Doyle’s loan move permanent.

But the club then went very quiet for weeks.

Going into deadline day though, Wolves are very busy and it looks as though at least three new faces will be walking through the door.

Bastien Meupiyou and Sam Johnstone are thought to have undergone their medicals already and their announcements should come soon.

And now, Fluminense midfielder Andre is set to join – with Fabrizio Romano delivering his famous catchphrase.

This lunch time, the game’s top journalist Fabrizio Romano has effectively confirmed Andre to Wolves as a done deal.

He wrote on X: “André to Wolves, here we go! Deal just sealed and contracts also ready for Brazilian midfielder to #WWFC.

“Talks were advanced for €22m fixed fee plus €3m add-ons, as revealed yesterday; now approved. André set to travel to England today. Record sale for Fluminense.”

This move has come to fruition very quickly.

Andre had been linked with Wolves in recent weeks, but a breakthrough was only reached last night while Wolves were in Carabao Cup action against Burnley.

The player is reportedly now flying to England to undergo his medical.

A very interesting move from Wolves

So Wolves appear to have this deal over the line and fans will no doubt be excited.

Andre is a player who has courted attention from big clubs, so for Wolves to get him is a statement.

It now remains to be seen what this deal will mean for other players in the Wolves squad at the moment.

Boubacar Traore has been linked with an exit and this signing surely does not help his cause at Molineux. He may well be a late outgoing as a result.

Luke Cundle could also be on his way following Andre’s arrival.

But one man who will be staying put is Joao Gomes, with Liam Keen reporting last night that Wolves are ‘categorically adamant’ Andre coming in doesn’t mean he’ll leave.
