Wolves are braced for a busy summer transfer window. The Old Gold will almost certainly lose Matheus Cunha.
Despite signing a new contract in January, Cunha’s new deal contains a minimum release clause worth £62.5 million, which is set to be triggered by at least one top club.
Nottingham Forest want Cunha, with Newcastle also heavily linked. It appears the forward’s future lies elsewhere though…

Man United closing in on Matheus Cunha transfer
Cunha appeared to pass his Old Trafford audition last weekend.
Although the Brazilian failed to get on the scoresheet during Wolves’ 1-0 win over Manchester United, his performance didn’t do any harm to his chances of joining the 20-time league winners next season.
Ruben Amorim was spotted tapping Cunha up with fans suspecting it’s only a matter of time before the South American swaps black and gold for red and white.
And judging by Fabrizio Romano’s latest update, they would be right.
The Italian transfer expert has reported the Red Devils are ‘confident’ an agreement to sign Cunha will be reached ‘soon’.
Would it be the right move?
Although Cunha would be handed a significant pay rise at Manchester United, it might not be the smartest move to make.
Cunha said he wants to challenge for silverware, but the Red Devils look nowhere near returning to that stage yet.
Guaranteed to finish the season with their worst-ever Premier League points tally, it’s clear Amorim has a huge job on his hands.
Cunha isn’t the type of player to drag a side through the trenches — if anything, he’s more prone to downing tools — so it feels like a disaster waiting to happen.
Nevertheless, with a relatively low release clause included in his contract, Wolves can’t worry about negotiations; Fosun are powerless when it comes to this particular saga.
