Fabrizio Romano delivers ominous transfer update on talented French winger after ‘concrete’ Wolves offer

Wolves continue to plug away in the transfer window with the new season now only one month away.

Wolves face an extremely daunting first fixture in the form of Manchester City at Molineux and at the moment, fans are concerned.

Vitor Pereira is also concerned about Wolves’ summer and how it has gone, and the Portuguese clearly wants more new faces to come through the door as soon as possible.

Only Fer Lopez has arrived so far this summer, although Jhon Arias will complete his move to Wolves this week.

Time is really of the essence now for Wolves with pre-season having already started.

A number of positions still need tending to, and fans are desperate to see the club really take the bull by the horns now.

In recent weeks, Wolves have been linked with a move for the highly talented Maghnes Akliouche.

But Molineux officials might need to get a move on to snap up the French winger.

Currently, there is real clamour for Wolves to bring in proven players who are ready to make an impact now.

We know that Wolves love to spend modest fees on young prospects who can come good in a few years.

That’s all well and good, but in this particular window – especially with the likes of Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pablo Sarabia having already left – there is a clear demand for a bit more pedigree.

But Wolves do still have eyes on talented young players, although Akliouche is someone who does have at least a bit of experience and pedigree at the age of 23.

It was reported recently that Wolves and Nottingham Forest had both presented ‘concrete’ offers for Akliouche.

This afternoon though, Fabrizio Romano reports that a number of ‘top clubs’ are now on his tail, in what is not the best of updates for Wolves.

He said on X: “Maghnes Akliouche situation, again one to watch with top clubs now reaching out for deal conditions.

“The French talent is high on the list of several clubs for this summer window.”

Wolves now risk missing out on Akliouche

This is not an ideal update for Wolves about Akliouche, if there is indeed interest in signing him this summer.

That said, Wolves would probably like to hope there would be more of a chance for Akliouche to play at Molineux than at one of these ‘top clubs’.

Appearances – 43
Minutes played – 3301
Goals – 7
Assists – 12

But that said, Wolves’ focus should very much be on signing those ready-to-go players now. Yes Akliouche isn’t exactly young at 23, but ideally Wolves could do with some players in their primes.

The squad needs a few more additions and ideally those that come in will have a decent level of experience and quality.
