Wolves will be eager to get to the summer transfer window as Gary O’Neil desperately seeks methods to improve his squad depth, with three potential targets now named.
With just nine games remaining of the 2023/24 campaign, Wolves have defied the odds so far to remain on course for a top-10 finish.
The Old Gold went into the season as suspected relegation candidates following their torrid time in the summer transfer window, as the club combatted financial restraints.
As a result, Gary O’Neil took charge from Julen Lopetegui as the Spaniard feared for his depleted squad however, the Englishman has proved such fears wrong as Wolves continue to laugh in the face of adversity.
Currently in an injury rut, O’Neil will battle to ensure the momentum stays high in his side although the former Bournemouth boss will be counting down the days to the summer transfer window.
Three potential Wolves summer transfer targets named
Having recently resorted to fielding academy talents such as Leon Chiwome and Nathan Fraser in the Premier League, it’s expected that Wolves will seek to replenish their attack in the transfer window.
Given O’Neil’s desires in the January window, it’s no secret that the Old Gold would like a new striker, with three potential suitors now named.
Speaking exclusively to Molineux News, HITC journalist Graeme Bailey shared his understanding of Wolves’ plans in the summer.
“I think they’ve been looking in Holland so Gimenez at Feyenoord, Pavlidis at AZ Alkmaar, they had a look at him not long ago.”
“I think they’re in a healthy position, Guirassy in the Bundesliga, there’s a lot of options out there for them and it’s a very healthy market for the strikers and Wolves will nail down who they want.”

Wolves could finally tie down a reliable goalscorer in the summer
Being yet to replace the past goalscoring reliability of pre-injury Raul Jimenez, Wolves will be desperate to finally recruit a valuable number nine to move closer to finishing O’Neil’s squad puzzle.
The signings of strikers Fabio Silva, Goncalo Guedes and Sasa Kalajdzic have been nothing short of disasters for the Midlands club, with the three players all currently out on loan with little hope of a future at Molineux.
Given the work that O’Neil has done at Wolves this season, it’s now imperative that Fosun support the Englishman where possible, with the three strikers named by Bailey having the potential to significantly bolster the attack.
Let’s have a look at the three names Wolves have been linked to…
Santiago Gimenez – Feyenoord

Eredivisie goals: 21
Rumoured price tag: £87m – 90min
Serhou Guirassy – Stuttgart

Bundesliga apperances: 21
Bundesliga goals: 23
Release clause: £15m – Fabrizio Romano
Vangelis Pavlidis – AZ Alkmaar
Age: 25
Eredivisie appearances: 27
Eredivisie goals: 24
Rumoured price tag: £17m – Foot Mercato
Who could be the best fit for Wolves?
Given Santiago Gimenez’s rumoured price tag, it’s difficult to imagine that Wolves would ever be able to afford to sign the 22-year-old however, his Eredivisie colleague could be a more reasonable option.
Having netted 24 league goals so far, Vangelis Pavlidis at only 25 years old could be a strong target for the Old Gold to consider, having the clinical streak to complement what O’Neil is trying to build at Molineux.
A similar argument could be made for Serhou Guirassy, who is expected to generate a host of interest in the summer solely down to his minimal release clause.
The Guinea international is a seasoned scorer in Germany and would undoubtedly fit the demographic of players that Fosun would admire this summer.
