Exciting Wolves talent tipped for Championship loan move this month

Enso Gonzalez looked to be a promising talent for Wolves when he signed back in 2023, but it has been tough going for the player ever since.

The 20-year-old has seen few minutes; in fact, he has played just one minute for the first team throughout his time in the Black Country.

Enso Gonzalez is unlikely to be happy with that, and with Paraguay in the World Cup, he has a chance to represent his nation in the tournament.

In order to make the squad, he needs game time, and at Wolves, currently that does not seem to be on the agenda.

It is no surprise he has been rumoured to exit the club this window, but suggestions from his home nation could end up being a shrewd decision by the Molineux chiefs.

Paraguayan media suggest Championship loan move for Wolves’ Enso Gonzalez

In early December, reports out of Paraguay suggested that Enso Gonzalez was set to leave Wolves. It later came out that the Old Gold could loan the 20-year-old out to Spain or Turkey.

However, now another option has been suggested for the South American attacking midfielder who is hoping to play in the summer’s World Cup.

Paraguayan journalist Christian Martin has reiterated that Gonzalez could leave Wolves this month, and England’s second tier is among the options.

Would you allow Enzo Gonzalez to leave in January, or would you give him a chance to impress Rob Edwards?

Signed in 2023/2024 and only has one minute on the pitch for the first team.

“I think we’ll soon be talking about him leaving. I wouldn’t rule out a Championship club – England’s second division – which is one of the toughest leagues in Europe. Extremely tough,” Martin says.

The journalist follows that up with other possible destinations: “There he could get minutes, or, as some are saying, maybe Mexico, Brazil or Turkey. The important thing is that he plays, from the player’s side and from the club’s side too.

“Because if they loan Enso out, he’d still have a year left on his contract. That’s why we’re talking about renewing with Wolverhampton and then sending him out on loan.”

A temporary switch to the Championship could very well end up being one of Wolves’ smartest decisions involving the Paraguayan.

A loan move to the Championship for Enso Gonzalez could be the best move for all parties involved.

The 20-year-old is seeking game time to make Paraguay’s World Cup squad, and with Wolves looking likely to be relegated to the second tier, he could gain valuable experience.

There will be a major squad overhaul at Molineux in the summer, and that may even begin now in January. Plenty of players will seek moves away, as they do not wish to play at the Championship level.

However, Gonzalez could be one of the biggest winners of said relegation. If a loan move is sanctioned, and he performs well, he can become a key player next season.

So far, he has not been given much of a chance, with just one senior appearance for the club, which totalled just one minute of play. Currently, he has made quite a few of Rob Edwards’ squads, but he has yet to be trusted.

Perhaps next season offers a change of fortune.
