Wolves have rejected an opening bid for one of their major stars of the 2023/24 campaign amid interest from European giants.
Wolves’ transfer window has been eventful. Gary O’Neil has already managed to lure in three players to join the Molineux side.
Departures have also happened. Captain Max Kilman signed for West Ham for £40 million becoming one of Wolves’ most expensive departures of all time.
However, more could be set to occur over the coming weeks. Pedro Neto has long been admired by Arsenal, while multiple Premier League clubs are reported to be interested in Joao Gomes.
Now, Wolves may face a battle to keep Hwang Hee-Chan after French giants Marseille saw a bid rejected for the attacker.

Wolves reject bid for Hwang Hee-Chan from Marseille

Despite a difficult start since signing for Wolves permanently, Hwang finally returned to form last season under O’Neil.
The South Korean international netted 13 times in all competitions as the club secured a mid-table finish.
His form earned the praise of Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker who claimed Hwang was ‘brilliant’.
As a result, Marseille have become interested in signing the player from Wolves. According to Liam Keen, O’Neil’s side received a £21 million bid from the French side which was quickly rejected.
Wolves want to keep hold of their South Korean star and are ‘adamant’ that he is not for sale this summer.
Wolves would be stupid to sell Hwang Hee-Chan this summer

It would be a complete shock if Hwang was to depart Wolves this summer. The attacker has finally hit form in an Old Gold shirt and is showing the potential many of the Molineux faithful longed for years.
To sell someone who has finally hit form would not go down well. Many supporters have been critical that Wolves are turning into a ‘selling club’ in recent years and this would only support their claim.
On top of this, Hwang has attracted a wealth of South Koreans to Molineux in recent years which the club have recently attempted to capitalise on.
Thankfully, Wolves have shown no signs that they are willing to sell Hwang which could resort to Marseille looking elsewhere for a new attacker.
