Wolves face a battle to keep one of its biggest stars as English giants register interest.
Optimism around Molineux has increased over the last week. The appointment of Vitor Pereira has been a success so far after he oversaw a convincing 3-0 victory over Leicester.
This has dramatically increased the club’s survival chances in the Premier League, now just being two points off the Foxes.
Additions in the January transfer window are expected too, with Wolves’ backline in particular needing reinforcements.
However, some of the club’s star players are also wanted as Pereira faces a battle to keep Matheus Cunha at the club.
Arsenal are ‘long-term’ admirers of Matheus Cunha

Cunha’s form at Wolves this season has certainly raised a few eyebrows. At the time of writing, the Brazilian has netted nine times in 17 Premier League games, a phenomenal feat for a side struggling near the bottom of the table.
As a result, Old Gold is keen to keep hold of its prize asset. It was reported that Wolves were looking to extend Cunha’s contract. However, this has not stopped teams from registering interest in the 25-year-old.
Man United have previously expressed their desire to sign Cunha, now another team could be set to join the race.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal are ‘long-term admirers’ of the Brazilian. The London side have been impressed by his performances and are monitoring the situation.
However, Wolves are unwilling to sell Cunha mid-season but an opportunity could present itself if the Old Gold were relegated by the campaign’s end.
Matheus Cunha’s departure from Wolves is inevitable

Whether Wolves stay up this season or not, it feels inevitable that Cunha will be departing the Old Gold sooner rather than later.
The Brazilian has proven multiple times this season that he is simply too good for this side and has carried them to multiple points.
This combined with Fosun’s frustrating self-sufficient strategy which sees the club sell its best players every summer, it’s hard to see how Cunha’s long-term future is at Wolves.
No doubt when the summer transfer window opens, plenty of teams will be bidding for the Brazilian.
The best that Wolves fans can hope for is that the money will be invested back into the squad rather than Fosun pocketing the cash. Unfortunately, based on recent summers, reinvestment looks unlikely.
