Wolves fans could very well get their first signing of the January transfer window today.
Wolves have been focusing on signing new defenders this month, having conceded a whopping 45 goals in 20 games in the Premier League.
Pereira is set to sign two defensive recruits for Wolves, and it looks as though the first will be announced imminently.
Earlier this week, Wolves reached an agreement with Reims to sign Emmanuel Agbadou.
The 27-year-old central defender had been due to make an appearance at Molineux on Monday night for Wolves’ game with Nottingham Forest. But he did not receive a work permit in time, and only flew to England last night.
He’ll finalise his move to Wolves today, and it could be announced later. Wolves hope he’ll be available for Saturday’s FA Cup game with Bristol City.
But the move is all set to go through, with Agbadou now posting a farewell message on Instagram.

Emmanuel Agbadou transfer to Wolves getting closer as star posts farewell to Reims fans

The hope is that Agbadou will come in and really help to shore up the leaky backline.
At times this season, Wolves have been all over the place, and reinforcements are undoubtedly needed this month.
Agbadou is a physically imposing centre-half. But he’s also decent on the ball, with Agbadou currently third in Ligue 1 this term for most successful long passes (77).
It seems the wheels are very much in motion now, and last night on Instagram, Agbadou actually did post a farewell message to those who have supported him at Reims.
In the lengthy and classy post, he said: “Dear Reims players, it is with great emotion that I address these words to you. Thank you to you, dear supporters, whose unconditional passion and support have always carried me.
“Thank you to the leaders for the trust and the opportunity that allowed me to grow, both professionally and personally. Thank you to my teammates, with whom I shared unforgettable moments and battles that will remain engraved in me. The Stade de Reims shaped me, and I will forever remain a Reims player.
“My blood will always carry the colors of this club. 🔴⚪️ With all my gratitude, Emmanuel Agbadou.”
Agbadou seems a humble character
It’s always interesting to see how a player joining another club will behave when leaving their current club – and this is a very nice message from Agbadou.
It shows great humility, and he is clearly grateful for everything Reims have done for him in helping him to achieve this transfer to Wolves.

Matt Hobbs has spoken in the past about the important of signing the right kind of characters for the dressing room and not just top players.
Dressing room dynamics are very important, and Agbadou seems like he is going to fit right in. And Agbadou seems up for the challenge, despite being questioned by Wilfried Bony over the move.
But above all else, Wolves fans just hope he’ll solidify the defence, which has been crying out for a bit of attention.
