Wolves have enjoyed considerable success when it comes to signing Brazilian players, and they could make a move for another in the upcoming months.
Matheus Cunha has perhaps been the best example of a South American thriving at Molineux, and his efforts secured him a move to Manchester United.
Joao Gomes has also been linked to making the switch to Old Trafford for the upcoming January window.
And Andre has also been tipped to make the exact same move, which just shows that when Wolves sign a Brazilian, they usually get it right.
Now, the name Riquelme Fillipi has been mentioned ahead of the transfer window, and it could open the door for Wolves to move back in after previous interest.
Palmeiras are open to negotiating for Riquelme Fillipi despite £87m release clause

Wolves have been linked with a move for Riquelme Fillipi since early 2025.
It was reported the Old Gold were preparing a £5 million bid for the young winger, but nothing ever came of that news.
The Palmeiras talent would later sign a new contract, and the new deal contained a release clause worth £87 million, pushing any prospective buyers away.
However, now, the Brazilian club’s position seems to have changed based on a new report by ESPN Brazil.
Molineux News got an expert rundown of Riquelme Fillipi when he was first linked in March 2025. Check it out!
The outlet states that Palmeiras need to raise around R$ 384 million (£50 million) and that Fillipi could be one of the players sold to bring in that money.
The report says, “Palmeiras has potential players to be negotiated in the transfer market, such as the youngster Riquelme Fillipi, who has received sporadic opportunities in the main team.”
With the Brazilian club needing money and looking to offload quite a few players, Wolves could now swoop in and get themselves a good value deal.
If signed in January, Fillipi would not have to be registered in the first team
While Wolves do need Premier League-proven players, they do also need homegrown talents as well. Currently, they have no space for foreign imports.
However, the one attractive prospect about Fillipi is that he is just 19 years old. This means he could be included as part of Wolves’ youth list rather than the first-team.
Who is the one player you want Wolves to sign in the January transfer window? 🤑
Fer Lopez, for example, is not registered as a first-team player, and thus, he does not count as a non-homegrown member of the Old Gold’s squad.
Fillipi is more likely one for the future, but if the Wanderers can get a good deal, they could end up signing another top Brazilian star.
