Dave Edwards has thrown his backing behind any move for Viktor Gyokeres by Wolves.
With the summer transfer window soon opening, the focus is very much on who will be signing for the club.
A big problem for Wolves has been scoring goals. And that has been the case for a while now.
Last season, Wolves finished as the lowest scorers in the Premier League. Just 31 goals scored in 38 games was seriously poor.
Julen Lopetegui will be looking to fix this major issue – and Gyokeres is apparently on his radar.
And in the eyes of former Molineux midfielder Edwards, a move for the Swede would be wise.
Dave Edwards wants Wolves to sign Viktor Gyokeres this summer
Gyokeres scored 22 goals in the Championship last season with Coventry City.
He made the most goal contributions of any player in the division, and Wolves seemingly like the look of him.

In January, the club did look at signing him. But in the end the club decided against it.
Raul Jimenez is set to leave Wolves this summer. And Edwards reckons Gyokeres could be a fine replacement, as he is somewhat similar to the Mexican.
He said in his latest Express & Star column: “Looking at other forward options, I’ve been lucky enough to watch Coventry on a few occasions this year and reported Wolves target Viktor Gyokeres has been so impressive.
“I think his skillset passes over to the Premier League, and in particular a club like Wolves. He’s something we’ve really missed this year. He brings similar dynamism to Raul Jimenez in his first two years. He’s an aggressive and powerful runner.
“He operates really well in the left channel and with his power and pace he gets on the ball. He creates so many opportunities for himself and other players.”
Viktor Gyokeres would be a great signing for Wolves but competition is strong
Gyokeres would be a great signing by Wolves this summer.
He has shown himself to be a good, all-round striker who doesn’t just score goals. He gets involved in the build-up and can hold it up well too.
Apparently Coventry are looking for around £25 million to sell Gyokeres.

That would be a lot of money for Wolves to pay for one player this summer, given there are financial issues at the moment.
Gyokeres is also wanted by Sporting CP amongst quite a few other sides.
It will be a tricky deal to do, but one that could genuinely fix a long-standing issue at Molineux.
