Wolves have today announced the signing of Portuguese winger Daniel Podence from Olympiacos.
The 24-year-old joins on a four-and-a-half-year and adds to the list of Portuguese players at Molineux.
The signing gives Wolves further depth up front, which has been an issue since the sale of Patrick Cutrone.
Wolves and Olympiacos were intensely negotiating, with the deal seemingly off a few days ago.
But who is Wolves’ new star man?
Early Career
Podence’s career began at the age of 10 when he signed for Sporting CP and joined their academy.

When he was 17, Podence appeared in his first senior game for Sporting’s reserve team, coming on as a late substitute.
He caught the eye of then manager and future Everton manager Marco Silva.
The Portuguese man then made his first-team debut for Sporting when he was 19 before being loaned out to Moreirense in September 2016.
Podence impressed while out on loan, and was recalled the following January.
From Portugal to Turkey
Podence’s career with Sporting looked to just be starting before he terminated his contract in June 2018.
When Sporting missed out on Champions League qualification, a group of fans attacked the players at a training session.
Seven players, including Podence and now Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio, cancelled their contracts with Sporting.
In July 2018, Podence joined Olympiacos and scored his first goal at Turf Moor as the Turkish side drew away to Burnley in the Europa League.
He was a stand out player in his first season, helping Olympiacos to the Champions League.
Where will he play?
In the Champions League this season, Podence has played either down the left-wing or right-wing.
He can also play centrally should Nuno switch around his formation.
Standing at just 5’4, Podence’s small stature is made up for with raw pace.
Podence will likely play a back-up role to begin with as Wolves’ front three are currently in red hot form.
