Wolves have made a transfer announcement that has left some fans a little disappointed.
Pre-season has now started at Wolves and only one new player has arrived at Molineux so far in the form of Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo.
Some had expected at least a few new faces by now.
But for Wolves so far it has mainly been about players leaving – and last night, Wolves announced that winger Chiquinho is the latest player to depart the club.
Chiquinho spent last season on loan at Spanish side Mallorca, but struggled for game time.
He played just nine times for the club, and didn’t see a single minute in La Liga after February 1. There had even been a suggestion at one point that Chiquinho could have returned to Wolves in January.
Chiquinho did have an injury towards the end of the campaign, but undoubtedly the loan was unsuccessful.
As a result, Wolves have decided to let Chiquinho go, and he has now joined FC Alverca on a permanent basis – and this news has left some fans a little gutted.

Ultimately, this outcome was always somewhat likely.
With Chiquinho not really playing last season, there was also a strong chance he would leave the club permanently this summer.
Wolves have reportedly agreed a 40% sell-on clause over Chiquinho, and it’s thought no transfer fee has been paid.
The fact he’s left on a free transfer has slightly irked some fans.
But the overriding feeling for many is one of sadness, because at one point, Chiquinho looked like an extremely promising talent at Wolves.
@jackthenewee: “Absolute baffling decision from the club.”
@itsKyleHey: “Looked like a real talent before his injuries, best of luck to the lad.”
@martinlogue6: “The lad was never given a chance. It’s becoming a joke that we are getting rid of players with nobody coming in.”
@TheOldGoldNews: “He was such a baller as well and had so much potential, I’ll never forget that game he had against Chelsea.”
@_ItsMe01_: “Not given a fair chance, sadly had a bad injury at the wrong time, think he deserved a chance.”

What might have been for Chiquinho at Wolves
The feelings of the Wolves fans above are understandable, because Chiquinho looked a real talent when he signed for the club from Estoril.
He produced a string of exciting cameos for Wolves in the second half of the 2021/22 season, with his highlight coming when he made two assists in a game against Chelsea.

Fans thought a fantastic new talent was emerging, but sadly, Chiquinho then suffered an ACL injury in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Burnley that summer.
This injury put him on the sidelines for months, and then Chiquinho had loan spells at Stoke City, Famalicao and then Mallorca last season.
Sadly, he’s been unable to convince Wolves that he is worth keeping around, and he will now embark on a new chapter.
