Concerning transfer update as Wolves have competition in Kevin Danso race – and it’s from a Premier League rival

Wolves fans are expecting some positive moves in the transfer window this month, but the club may now face competition over their top target.

Wolves have endured a tough season so far, although things have picked up over the last few weeks with Vitor Pereira having replaced Gary O’Neil as manager.

Pereira has taken seven points from a possible nine so far, and a feel-good factor has returned.

But Pereira knows this squad needs reinforcing.

And thankfully for him he now has the potential to do just that – and the defence will be his focus.

Wolves will apparently look to hand Pereira two new defensive recruits in January, and we’ve already had a few names mentioned.

Kevin Danso is wanted by Wolves, but Wanderers may not have a straight run at him.

It’s been reported by journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter via GFFN that Wolves now face competition for Danso from Everton.

The Toffees are said to have identified the Austria international as a target.

Everton bought Jake O’Brien from Lyon in the summer but he has barely played, and currently, Michael Keane is free to talk to other clubs about joining as a free agent in the summer.

It’s unclear which club the player would prefer to join right now.

But Danso is thought to be Wolves’ top target this month, and Pereira will be keen to get a deal for him over the line.

Wolves, of course, are currently the worst defensive outfit in the Premier League, having conceded 42 goals in 19 games.

Wolves must beat Everton to Danso

With Danso reported to be Wolves’ top target this month, it’s important that they get this deal over the line – or fans will be furious.

Pereira has started well, but the mood will quickly change if the new manager is not given the tools to kick on.

He’s done very well to steady the ship so far, and has gotten Wolves looking much more solid at the back.

But there is still a need for at least one new defender to come in, and missing out on Danso to Everton – currently a Premier League relegation rival – would be a bad look.

Danso could potentially have a very big impact on this team.

He’s more athletic than the likes of Santiago Bueno and Craig Dawson, and Wolves do need someone in there will a bit of pace.
